Welcome to the 1st day of the rest of my life

As I sit here listening to the final cut of my annual mixed CD, I'm waxing the floor cathartic. Track after track remind me of specific events and emotions that have overwhelmed me this year, being the year of upheaval on an unnatural scale. Originally I thought about starting this writing experience by sharing stories about the last 39 years of my life leading up to what is perceived as a major milestone in one's life. Something that has already been done before, I'm sure. However, as the year progressed, things became more challenging, only adding insult to injury for someone who usually calls the shots in terms of serious life changes. It's out of my control. It's all new to me. It's coming to a monitor near you.
